Fall 2014 Regatta Schedule

Hope you’re enjoying summer!  I wanted to give everyone a heads-up on the Fall regatta schedule, so families can make travel plans.

  1. Recruit your friends and neighbors for Learn-to-Row, Modified and Novice Teams!
  2. New this year:  BRC’s first regatta will be the Head of the Potomac, September 28, in Washington DC for Varsity rowers only.  We’re not going to Fairport Liftbridge this year.  Coaches made this decision for several reasons.BHS students are off school Thurs and Fri 9/25-26 (Rosh Hashana begins after sundown, Wed, 9/24).

Team travel arrangements (bus, hotel, etc…) are TBA.  But, we expect that many families will drive down on their own to combine this weekend with college visits in the DC area.  Coaches will let rowers know when to arrive at the regatta site to rig the boats.  Rowers are expected to stay at the team hotel on Saturday night.  Families are encouraged to do so, also.

  3. Head of the Genesee.  College racing on Saturday, October 4, is a great fund-raiser for BRC.  Sign up for shifts to help run the event, or get co-workers together for a Corporate Challenge Boat.  High School racing for Novice and Varsity is Sunday, October 5.  A demonstration row for Modified is also planned for Sunday.
  4. No regattas on Columbus Day Weekend.
  5. Head of the Charles, Friday, October 17 – Sunday October 19 in Boston for select Varsity.  Coaches will announce lineups by late September.
  6. Head of the Schuylkill, Saturday, October 25 – Sunday, October 26 in Philadelphia for Novice and Varsity.
  7. Pull the Plug, Sunday, November 2 in Pittsford for Novice and Varsity.More info available on the website:  Click Here
