Modified HOG 10-141.  Thank you Coach Liza and congratulations to the Modified team for a successful and
enthusiastic Fall season!  Please join us at the Pull the Plug Regatta in Pittsford this Sunday to cheer on the High School rowers; Click Here for BRC’s racing schedule.  Details for Winter Training and Spring 2015 season will be announced in December, so stay tuned and keep rowing!

2. Weather was blustery and the competition was challenging at Head of the Schuylkill last weekend.  Each of the Varsity and Novice rowers had a chance to race in 2 events on a beautiful, historic course.  Results posted here.  Thank you to coaches, Tamara Abbott and all of the parents for a successful trip.

3.  Pull the Plug Regatta, Sunday, 11/2.  Our final event of the season, and a local event for Novice and Varsity teams.  Click Here for BRC’s race schedule; most will again have a chance to “double-row.”  Coaches will tell you what time to arrive; Coaches’ and Conswains’ meeting 8:30AM.   DON’T FORGET TO SET YOUR CLOCKS BACK on Saturday night!  Also:  DRESS FOR THE WEATHER:  high of 44 predicted!   Per race officials:  Referees may not let people launch off the dock without proper clothing.  Visit the SignUp to volunteer.

4.  Practice Monday, 11/3 for Novice and Varsity is to wash the boats and pack up the boathouse until spring; all are expected to attend.  Usual time:  3:45-5:45-ish.

5. End of Season party?  We missed the chance to have a party to kick-off the Fall season this year, and Tracy Schleyer (Drew’s Mom) is already planning for the Spring kick-off event.  End-of-Season party is always a fun, casual wrap-up to celebrate the club’s hard work.  If you’d like to host the party in the next few weeks, let me know:  webmaster@brightoncrew.org.  Thanks!

BRC Sticker 20145.  BRC Stickers (and other Merch):  All rowers should have received the new-and-improved BRC sticker…if you haven’t, please let me know and I’ll get you one:  webmaster@brightoncrew.org.  Extras available for $5.  Also, BRC fangear makes great holiday gifts!  Visit our FanGear store to place your order.

4.  Rochester Community Inclusive Rowing hosted the Head of the Genesee Regatta to raise funds and awareness for their adaptive rowing programs.  RCIR was founded by BRC Board Member-emeritus Tim Giarrusso.  Adaptive rowing is aimed at removing barriers to rowing for veterans, people with vision loss, autism, etc.  In 2014 they successfully completed a pilot program teaching veterans from the Iraq/Afghanistan war to row, and have purchased an adaptive 1x and 4x.  OASIS focuses on adaptive sports for Veterans in our area and will include rowing in 2015.  RCIR will continue the pilot and keep you posted if you want to help starting June 1 2015.  Thanks to all the BRC volunteers who helped run a succesful HOG!
