Building BRC: ¬†more rowers means easier car-pools and lower regatta fees ūüôā ¬†Challenge¬†your friends to try the sport you love. ¬†Do you have some athletic classmates who would make good rowers and teammates? ¬†Invite them to BRC.

Brighton Rowing Club 2015 Summer Learn-to-Row Camps: for boys and girls entering grades 7-12 from throughout the Rochester Metro Area (any town, any school district).

2-week program, Monday-Friday, teaches rowing techniques and quickly progresses to rowing on the Genesee River and Erie Canal. No rowing/boating experience is necessary, but participants must be able to swim.

Rowing is a total-body workout that builds endurance, strength, balance, mental discipline and teamwork.   Excellent cross-training off-season from other sports, very low injury risk.  All equipment is provided.

  • Session 1 ¬† July 27 ‚Äď Aug 7¬†¬† ¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† 9-11 AM
  • Session 2 ¬† July 27 ‚Äď Aug 7¬†¬† ¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† 3:45-5:45 PM
  • Session 3 ¬† Aug 17-28¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† ¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† 9-11 AM
  • Session 4 ¬† Aug 17-28 ¬†¬†¬†¬† ¬†¬†¬†¬† ¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† 3:45-5:45 PM

Fee: $195/2-week session.  $50 discount on the Fall season club registration if you keep rowing!

BRC News 6/13/15: News from Nationals

  1. Updated heat sheet:   Click Here for updated racing schedule.  A wild thunderstorm blew in just after BRC Girls finished their heat on Friday, postponing some races till today. Competition is very strong.
  2. BRC races Saturday 12:12pm in repechage.
    1. Top 2 in this rep go to Semifinal at 5:46 or 5:53pm.
    2. Places 3,4,5 go to C Final on Sunday, 11:40am.
    3. Top 3 in each Semifinal to A Final; the rest to B Final on Sunday.
  3. Watch the Live Stream of Saturday and Sunday events on USRowing YouTube Channel.
  4. More thunderstorms predicted for later today…stay tuned to USRowing for updates.

  2. News from USRowing Youth National Championship:
    1. Click Here for the Heat Sheet. BRC girls are scheduled to race
      1. About 4PM Friday, 6/12 (Heats)
      2. About 5PM Saturday, 6/13 (Semis)
      3. About 1PM Saturday, 6/14 (A, B and C Finals)
    2. Watch the Live Stream of Saturday and Sunday events on USRowing YouTube Channel.
    3. Progression:¬†22 entries in the Women’s Lightweight Youth 4+.
      1. BRC girls race in the first of 4 heats about 4PM on Friday, 6/12.
      2. Top 2 go directly to Semis, places 3-6 race again in repechage on Saturday about 12Noon.
      3. 1st and 2d in reps to Semis; 3d-6th to C Final
      4. Top 3 in each Semifinal to A Final; the rest to B Final.
    4. Thank you Canisius High School crew for transporting our boat to Sarasota (along with Baldwinsville’s 4!) ¬†Neighborly cooperation from western NY to sunny southwest FL. Gotta love rowers who know how to¬†start the season with ice on the river and finish in 95-degree humidity!
