BRC News 8/16/15: Get ready to row…

  1. LTR (Learn-to-Row) : Sessions 3 and 4, start tomorrow, August 17-28, AM and PM!
    1. Experienced rowers (including recent LTR grads and Modified) are invited to help out and fill the boats.  Please text Helen Siegrist if and when you’re available:  585-703-3450.
    2. Weather looks hot and summery for the next 10 days.  Bring a water bottle.  Practice will take place daily, rain or shine.  We row in all kinds of weather, but will have land workouts in case of very high winds or thunderstorms.  Coaches monitor area weather closely.
  2. Friends ready to try a new sport?  Do you know athletic kids who were cut from their fall roster, or who are tired of riding the bench and ready for a new challenge?  Invite them to try rowing!  Everyone rows, no bench-sitters, all high-school rowers compete at every regatta.  Rowing is a total-body workout that builds endurance, strength, balance, mental discipline and teamwork.   Excellent cross-training off-season from other sports, very low injury risk.  All equipment is provided.  Although it’s too late for LTR, they can join Modified or Novice Fall Season.  BRC offers a 2-week trial for newcomers and full refund if they don’t like it.  Questions?  Contact me at webmaster@brightoncrew.org.
  3. Register for Fall Season:  Now with little-to-no paperwork!  🙂
