BRC News 7/26/16: Learn-to-Row; Get Ready for Fall!

Hope you’re enjoying summer!  I wanted to give everyone a heads-up on BRC Fall Season so families can get registered and make regatta travel plans.

  1. Recruit your friends and neighbors for Learn-to-Row, Modified and Novice Teams!  Download/Print the flyer to post and share.
  2. Experienced Rowers Needed to Help with Learn-to-Row
    1. Get back on the water!  At least 4-5 experienced BRC rowers are needed each day to fill the boat and lead by example.  Modified, Novice and Varsity are all welcome!

    3. Contact Coach Becca to let her know what days you are available.
  3. Fall Registration is Open for all teams.  Click Here to register.
    1. Varsity starts August 29 – November 7
    2. Novice  starts September 6 – November 7
    3. Modified starts September 13 – November 3

    1. Novice moving to Varsity:  The link to order your uni/tech shirt will be available soon.  Orders must be placed between Aug 1-9 to get preferred shipping.
    2. Modified moving to Novice:  order your uniform T-Shirt from Athletic Outlet.
    3. A few used uniforms are available.  Please contact Kalpana Janamanchi (Archana’s Mom) at uniforms@brightoncrew.org.
  5. Fall Regatta Schedule is posted, Click Here.
    1. No Potomac this year; Fairport Lift Bridge will be our first regatta for Novice and Varsity.
    2. Head of the Charles TBA per lottery, announced in late September.
    3. Travel details for Schuylkill TBA soon.
  6. Summer Sculling Clinic has been a rousing success.  Thank you Coach Becca and scullers for making it happen!  Looking forward to hearing about Keagan’s experience with RJRC!

BRC News 7/3/16: Corn Hill Art Fest + Other Summer Stuff

PopsiclesCorn Hill Art Fest, July 9-10:  Genesee Rowing Club has a booth at the Corn Hill Arts Festival and has invited BRC to join the fun!  We need volunteers to staff the tent, wear club fan-gear, chat up passersby and recruit new members.

If you ever want to drive a launch in NY state:  individuals born on or after 5/1/96 are now required to complete an approved course in boater education in order to operate a motorboat.  Brighton Town Rec Dept is offering classes July 12&14 and Aug 1&3.  See page 22 in the brochure.

Get ready to watch “The Boys of ’36” on WXXI, August 2.
